Clinical study of ursodeoxycholic acid combined with simvastatin in treatment of fatty liver combined with hyperlipidemia

2011
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of ursodeoxycholic acid combined with simvastatin in treatment of fatty liver combined with hyperlipidemia. Methods Seventy-eight patients with fatty liver combined with hyperlipidemia were randomly divided into treatment group(n=38) and control group(n=40).The patients in the treatment group were treated with simvastatin and ursodeoxycholic acid, while patients in the control group were treated only with simvastatin. The treatment duration lasted two months for both groups.Clinical symptoms and signs of changes were observed, ultrasound was used to examine the liver, the levels of ALT,AST,γ-GT,TG and TC were detected before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of treatment group(86.8%) was significantly higher than that of control group(75.0%)(P0.05).Clinical symptoms and signs of patients in the treatment group were significantly more relieved than those in the control group after treatment(P0.05).The levels of ALT,AST, γ-GT,TG and TC in treatment group after treatment were(52.15±12.32) U/L,(47.14±10.32)U/L,(46.73±15.61)U/L,(1.42±0.31) mmol/L and(3.78±0.44)mmol/L, which were significantly lower than before treatment(P0.05).The ultrasound imaging of patients in the treatment group significantly improved after treatment (P0.05).No obvious adverse reactions occurred in two groups during treatment. Conclusion Ursodeoxycholic acid combined with simvastatin has a good treatment effect on fatty liver combined with hyperlipidemia.
