Simulation and analysis of power cable harmonic loss and temperature rise

2016
The reliability of the design and operation status monitoring of harmonic losses of power cable and harmonic temperature rise is significant. Firstly, the development of domestic and international cable harmonic models with the limitations are analysed, then the models of harmonic magnetic field distribution using magnetic vector potential to describe is proposed. On this basis, considering the influence of skin and proximity effects on the magnetic field distribution under harmonic circumstances, the multi-phase cable harmonic loss calculation method is derivate by calculating electromagnetic screen circulation and arrangement correcting. Re-using of the model, cable harmonic temperature rise is characterized by combing with thermoelectric fitting method. The calculation model of power cable coupled electromagnetic and thermal fields in power cable including soil contains external is established to improve the accuracy of harmonic losses and temperature calculation. Finally, compared the coupled model with IEEE harmonic model to analyse, then the losses and temperature rise in dynamic harmonic situations were simulated to verify the correctness, which provides a reliable theoretical basis for the power cable running temperature monitoring under the harmonic.
