Modeling and experimental study of vehicle dynamic characteristics

An entire dynamic model of a typical heavy truck is developed in order to obtain further investigation. In order to obtain valuable and realistic results, the vehicle performance is analyzed based on road test. The comfort level on seat and vibration isolation performance of the cab is evaluated. Modal test and stiffness test have been carried out to identify the characteristics of the proposed model. An excellent agreement between numerical and experimental results is obtained, thus the current updated numerical model is capable of predicting the dynamic characteristics.
