8.11 – Catalysis of Redox Reactions

2013
This chapter summarizes the conceptual and theoretical description of redox reactions, including electron transfer, ion transfer, proton transfer, bond breaking, and interaction with a catalyst. Next, principles of catalysis of hydrogen evolution, oxygen reduction, water splitting, and carbon dioxide, on both heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts, are discussed.
