A study of the Cr52(d, p)Cr53 reaction

Abstract Angular distributions have been measured in the Cr 52 (d, p)Cr 53 reaction, using surface barrier counters and particle identification. The distributions are compared with the predictions of zero-range DWBA calculations using various sets of deuteron optical model parameters obtained from the elastic scattering of deuterons on Cr 52 . The DWBA calculations are used to extract relative and absolute reduced widths for the states of Cr 53 , and the variation of these widths with energy and with the set of deuteron parameters used is examined.
