Sendika İçi Demokrasi Üzerine Bir Karşılaştırma: İşçi Sendikaları ve Kamu Görevlileri Sendikaları

In short, there is a strong relationship between trade unions, which are defined as organizations that aim to develop and maintain their rights and interests, and democracy which are closely related to concepts such as equality, freedom and human rights. While trade unions are a non-governmental organization which associate with democracy, the concept of internal democracy in the union comes to the fore. In this study, trade unions and public servants' unions in Tekirdag and their districts were compared by using ile semi-structured interview technique, from qualitative research methods. Interviews with members were subject to content analysis and, although there was no difference in the implementation of in-union democracy, it was concluded that members of the civil servants' unions did not have sufficient knowledge of the intra-union processes and this led to the failure to operate the trade union’s democracy properly.
