A Piezo-PWP method for charge measurement of the cell suspension

2009
A new system for measuring charge of the cell suspension is presented, which is based on the piezoelectric pressure wave propagation method (Piezo-PWP). According to charge characters of the cell suspension, the principle of this system, the design of electrodes and the cavity structure are introduced. The piezoelectric ceramics PbZrTiO3 (PZT) and the piezoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) film of 25µm are respectively used as transmitter, and the PVDF as receiver in experiments of testing the PWP system. According to the pulse wave with 14ns width and up to 600V amplitude, which are put on the piezoelectric material to produce acoustic waves, signal waves got from the receiver are analyzed. The analyses of experimental waves prove that the PZT is the proper choice used as the acoustic generator in the experiment of spawn suspension. In this way the charge of the cell suspension can be measured. The result clarifies the system maybe helpful to the advanced research.
