Impacto de la evaluación metabólica y hábitos alimentarios en nefrolitiasis

2017
Nephrolithiasis is a frequent cause of morbidity and emergency consultation. It is associated with prolitogenic risk factors that can be detected in metabolic studies, implementing an individualized treatment. We performed a retrospective descriptive study. We included patients assisted at Hospital de Clinicas Doctor Manuel Quinitela in Polyclinic of Nephrolithiasis between January 2014 and December 2015 who met the inclusion criteria (N= 52). Medical Chart were reviewed, clinical and paraclinical variables were recorded, taking into account the fi rst and second metabolic studies. In the fi rst study, all patients had at least one metabolic alteration, which was maintained in the second study, with an improvement in diuresis, 11 of 49 patient had a volume greater than 2500ml / day in the fi rst study while for the second they were 15 of 49. The most important alteration in the fi rst study was hypernatruria and was maintained post-treatment. About the glomerular fi ltration 36 of 50 patient had a glomerular fi ltration greater than 60ml/min whereas in the second 15 of 49 patient they had this condition. The metabolic study made it possible to diagnose systemic pathologies that predispose to lithiasis. We highlight as a positive result the reduction of morbidity after the therapeutic intervention. We achieved an average increase in diuresis, increased daily water intake. This supports the importance of changes in the dietary habits of patients with lithiasis.
