Brittle Fracture Materials by BEM and R-Functions

The paper presents a combination between Boundary Element Methods and R-Functions Method for analysis of cracks propagations in elastic bodies based on the new failure criterion developped by the authors. After theoretical presentation of displacement discontinuity method as the special variant of BEM in fracture mechanics and the R-functions Method is studied a numerical example concerning the behaviour of a shear wall made by reinforced concrete.
