Apparatus for producing hydrogen gas

The present invention provides a method for producing hydrogen gas, and an apparatus for the method, wherein the method has the following advantages: excellent energy efficiency, capability of producing hydrogen gas efficiently, and high suitability for small-size hydrogen producing device. The method for producing hydrogen gas according to the invention is used for producing the hydrogen gas through methanol and is characterized by comprising the following steps: a raw material gas preparing step of preparing raw material gas through gasifying the methanol and the water; a reaction gas preparing step of preparing reaction gas through causing the reaction between the raw material gas and oxygen-containing gas; a hydrogen gas separating step of separating the hydrogen gas contained in the reaction gas from the reaction gas; and a residual gas burning step of burning the residual gas which is obtained through separating the hydrogen gas from the reaction gas, and furthermore, the heat which is generated in burning the residual gas in the residual gas burning step is used in the raw material gas preparing step. Furthermore, in the reaction gas preparing step, the heat which is generated in burning the residual gas in the residual gas burning step is used for causing the reaction between the raw material gas and the oxygen-containing gas.
