Lipstick gel base with improved rheology

2007
A composition for imparting a film on the lips, comprising: (a) from 0.1 to 2.5% by weight of a copolymer of Bis-Estearietilendiamina / Neopentyl glycol / Dimer Dilinoleate Stearyl Hydrogenated having an average molecular weight of about 5500 Daltons and it is capable of forming a gel with low polarity oils and non-polar or below a transition temperature sol-gel Tgel where Tgel is above body temperature; (B) 5 to 12% by weight of a first wax component comprising linear polyethylene and microcrystalline wax oil having a melting point above Tgel; (C) from 5 to 12% by weight of a second component comprising wax and lanolin ozokerite having a melting point equal or below Tgel; and (e) 40 to 80% by weight of one or more ester oils low polarity or nonpolar capable of forming a gel with said copolymer Bis-Estearietilendiamina / Neopentyl glycol / Dimer Dilinoleate Stearyl Hydrogenated or below said transition temperature sol-gel Tgel; wherein said composition is self-supporting at room temperature and further characterized by a viscosity measured during a second cycle of shearing is within ± 20% of the viscosity measured during a first cycle of shearing at each shear rate between 1 and 10 sec. -1, wherein said first and said second cycle are identical and comprise shear rates increasing shear 1-1000 seg.-
