Status of the LHCb RICH and Hadron Particle Identification

2004
The LHCb experiment will use a Ring Imaging Cherenkov detector (RICH) in order to identify hadrons with momentum between 1 and 100 GeV/c. In this paper, the development of the RICH detector and the particle identification algorithms will be presented. It will also be shown that with the current design, it is possible to discriminate pions from kaons in the selected momentum range.
