The research progress of hypoxia inducible factor-1α in the pathogenesis of chronic myeloid leukemia
2018
Chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML) is a hematopoietic malignancy with a prevalence of 0.36 per 100 000 in China and is the third most common leukemia among all types. As a transcription factor for maintaining oxygen balance, hypoxia inducible factor (HIF)-1α plays a role in the pathogenesis of solid tumors such as lung cancer, gastric cancer, and breast cancer. The recent evidence suggests that HIF-1 alpha may be an important factor in the pathogenisis of CML.This article reviews the effects of HIF-1α on the hematopoietic microenvironment, angiogenesis, and drug resistance of CML.
