Are We Ready for Google Underground? Hurricanes in the 21st Century

Google Earth has transformed the use of spatially-registered imagery in popular media. In this talk, I will relate some ideas that have come out of a DARPAsponsored working group tasked with identifying the road blocks facing the formation of Google Underground. My presentation will touch on aspects of observation, analysis, and data storage as well as cultural considerations. I hope that this will spark a lively exchange of ideas regarding the possibilities, limitations, and potentials for such an effort.
