Mayo Clinic founders, William J. Mayo and Charles H. Mayo, and Harvey W. Cushing were among the most significant pioneers of modem American surgery. A review of their personal correspondence reveals a special relationshipamong these three individuals, particularly between William Mayo and Cushing.
