The invention discloses a searching method and device. The method comprises the steps that keywords input through a browser are obtained; through a process variable in an index interface between the browser and a local database, the keywords are transmitted to the local database, and the local database is established according to data information sent by a server; by analyzing a result variable in the index interface, a searching result fed back by the local database is obtained; and the obtained searching result is displayed in the browser. When keyword searching is carried out through the browser, keyword searching is carried out in the local database, the searching result is obtained, keyword searching does not need to be carried out through the server for obtaining the searching result, the waiting time of a whole searching process is shortened, and searching efficiency is improved.
