Evaluación analitica y tecnológica de una pomada de indometacina

1996
The physico-mechanical and chemical properties of a cream made in Cuba, which contains indomethacin and methyl salicilate, were determined by doing control and stability studies of the active ingredients and a technological evaluation of pharmacological preparation. A reversed-phase HPLC method, with UV detection is proposed. The analytical column is a Spherisorb ODS-2, and the mobile phase is a mixture of acetonitrile and acetic acid. Studies of linearity, accuracy and selectivity demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed methodology. For the technological evaluation, penetration and extensibility assays and rheological studies were performed. The pharmacological preparation showed good stability, demonstrated by a triplicate analysis of three lots of the cream in different storage conditions.
