Comparison of lead excretion in patients after 5 chelating drugs
2016
Drugs were injected into the same patients alternatively at the same dose. The amounts of Pb excreted in urine were in the following order: CaDTPA>CaEDTA>DMS≥ZnDTPA=quinamic acid. Since more than 80% of Pb was excreted within 12 h after the injections, we suggest that the drugs should be injected q 12 h. Among these drugs, the effect of DMS was the fastest but lasted a shorter time.
