Removing solvent from macro porous resin with supercritical CO_2 and its numerical simulation

2012
Removing solvent from macro pore resin was studied by using supercritical CO2.The influencing factors such as temperature, pressure, water mass fraction, removing time on the removing rate of residual solvent were inspected with single factor method, and the process was simulated. The study also includes the influence of removing process on resin structure and the swelling of resin. The results show that the ideal solvent removal condition is at 40 ℃ and 12 MPa,for 2 h,and with water mass fraction of 30%-40%.Under these conditions, the solvent in the resin can be removed completely and the resin structure can be kept as original. When the pressure is less than 25 MPa and the temperature is below 80 ℃ in 10 h,the swelling process has a little effect on resin structure. The simulation values are in line with experiment datas which shows that the model used in this study can reflect the removing process well, and the diffusion coefficients are among(6.2-8.8)×10-8 cm2/s according to the simulation results.
