Introduction and Artificial Cultivation Experiment on Hyacinthus orientalis in Suzhou

In this paper,‘Gipsy Princess',‘Monica',‘Antarctica',‘Antarctica',‘Hollyhock',five cultivars of Hyacinthus orientalis L.which were introduced from Holland and outdoor cultivated in Suzhou were observed phenological phases,ornamental traits and bulbs characteristics.The results showed that the five cultivars could be normally grew and blossomed of outdoor cultivation in Suzhou.The‘Gipsy Princess',‘Monica',‘Anna Marie'were suitable for garden flower show,flower border or flower bed.‘Hollyhock'and ‘Antarctica'not only could be applied to garden flower show,flower border and flower bed but also could be potted.But if the bulbs were planted for next year,‘Antarctica'was more appropriate.‘Monica',‘Gipsy Princess',‘Hollyhock'and‘Anna Marie'need to be considered for the rejuvenation of the bulbs because they had different degrees of degradation.
