Correlation effects in X rays and electronic intensities for the neon atom
1971
A study of momentum densities, Compton profile, coherent and total intensities for X rays, elastic, inelastic and total intensities for 40 keV electrons for the Ne atom in its ground state has been carried out with a correlated wavefunction which gives 20% of the correlation energy. The results obtained with such a wavefunction are compared with these obtained for a Hartree-Fock wavefunction, and a correlated wavefunction which gives about 85% of the correlation energy, it is shown that it is possible to obtain a nonnegligible difference for the momentum densities (1%) and a greater difference for the coherent, elastic, inelastic, incoherent, and total intensities (3%). For the Compton profile the difference is smaller.
