This dissertation is motivated by the birth of a Masyarakat Tanpa Riba (MTR) or society without usury in english community which has been present in the society with two main reason. First main reason is concern for Indonesia, country with the majority of the populiation are muslims but sistematically and massively legalize usury by the present of the conventional banks. Secondly, this move is motivated by the awareness of basic concept of brilliant idea (Islamic faith) to rise up the muslims in Indonesia from the multidimensional adversity, especially the usury traps. This dissertation is a field research entitled Religion-Based Economic Movement (Study of the Resistance of the Community without Usury Against Riba In Indonesia). This research was conducted to answer the question: 1) How is the history of the emergence of a society without usury (MTR) by strengthening life without usury? 2) How is the strategy of the community without usury (MTR) in moving the economic community without usury ? 3) What is the level of success Community without usury (MTR) strategy in moving the economic community without usury ?. This research is a type of qualitative research and uses field research. The approach used is phenomenology. In observations see changes in people's way of thinking in life. Data collection techniques with participatory observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that: 1) the history of the emergence of the No-Riba Society due to awareness as an anti-usury preaching community, social movements, self-relief from debt. 2) The MTR strategy in moving the community in accordance with Zenden's ideas on resistance theory and Stencer's thought on reaction and conservative theories is strongly rejecting the presence of usury in the form of interest in debt and changing the order of their lives in paying off their debt by means of continuous interaction with the elite, the opposing party and the authorities. 3) To measure the level of success of the MTR community strategy towards members who have joined, namely their business mindset is changing, starting to understand muamalah fiqh, having good business management and having new innovations that is developing a business with ni debt
