A liquid purification system capable of separating a first liquid from a second liquid in which the first liquid is completely or partially immiscible and forms a discontinuous phase with the second continuous phase forming liquid, comprising: a housing; a fluid inlet in the housing; at least one coalescing arrangement for coalescing the first liquid containing at least one coalescing element with at least one fluid inlet disposed above it; at least one separation assembly for separating droplets of the first liquid from the second liquid containing at least one separator with a barrier material repelling the discontinuous phase, wherein the at least one coalescing assembly is disposed in a superimposed fluid communicable relationship above the at least one separation assembly; a first liquid outlet in the housing, the first liquid outlet being a liquid phase for the continuous phase; and a second liquid outlet in the housing, the second liquid outlet having a liquid outlet for the ...
