Five natural carbohydrates from the leaves of Sauropus rostratus

Abstract Three new hexose derivatives ( 1 – 3 ), together with two known ones ( 4 , 5 ), were isolated from the leaves of Sauropus rostratus . The structures of new compounds were elucidated on the basis of the spectroscopic methods including 1D and 2D NMR (HSQC, 1 H– 1 H COSY, HMBC and NOESY) and HR-MS analyses. The absolute configurations of three new compounds were established by the modified Mosher’s method.
