Some Features of the Diagnostics of Failure of Blades Positioned in the Middle Part of a Rotor

Problems of diagnostics of failures of blades in the middle part of a rotor are considered. Computational analysis and an actual case of failure encountered by the authors are presented. It is shown that the standard vibration equipment can either neglect a vibration jump or detect it as an insignificant one. This prevents reliable signaling of the defect and protection of the unit from further destruction. Methods for optimization of the existing algorithms for diagnosing such defects are suggested.
