The concept of POSTURON braces for patients with a damaged labyrinth

2019
The objective of the article is to present posturographic apparatus called POSTURON built on the shape of braces with IMU sensors, which in combination with a microprocessor and a program to process these data, allow assessing the patient's current state of balance and if necessary help him in its correction through vibrational signals. The primary assumption is to speed up the recovery of patients with imbalances and to increase the mobility of people with a permanently damaged balance apparatus and create a device that registers and corrects the posture also during outpatient rehabilitation and providing protection against falling. The device should be very burdensome for the patient, i.e., be light and comfortable. In order to increase the mental comfort of the examined apparatus, it should be less visible. Healthy persons, as well as those with imbalances, were recruited for the study. Based on the results obtained, we assessed the impact of the device on the quality of the exercises performed.
