The effect of polyarylenealkylenes on the rate of vinyl polymerization initiated by radical mechanism

1976
It is shown that polyarylenealkylenes (PAAs) accelerate the polymerization of methyl methacrylate, initiated by benzoyl peroxide or AZBN in air at 60°. A mechanism of the accelerating effect of PAAs is proposed, based on a free radical chain transfer reaction and formation of oligomeric hydroperoxides.
