Review of preoperative bowel preparation before colorectal surgery

There is a traditional concept that it is very important for preoperative bowel preparation before colorectal surgery. However, it is still controversial for many clinical studies on whether preoperative bowel preparation is needed for colorectal surgery or how to present bowel preparation. We presented a review of preoperative bowel preparation and introduced briefly correlated study, providing the theory basis of standardized of perioperative management of colorectal surgery in the future.
