A near-infrared fluorescent probe for imaging of nitroxyl in living cells.

Abstract A BODIPY-based NIR fluorescent probe, NitroxylBDP, for the rapid and specific, detection of HNO has been designed and synthesized. The merits of NIR fluorescence, and stable fluorescence output against pH changes, and good membrane permeability, enable the probe to serve as an ideal indicator for tracking HNO in living systems.
