Isolation and characterization of microsatellite loci in the tuba false fusus (Hemifusus tuba Gmelin)

2009
Hemifusus tuba is a commercially important gastropod species, but has been suffering from severe population decline due to overexploitation. To evaluate its genetic diversity and population genetics, ten polymorphic microsatellites were firstly isolated and characterized. The number of alleles ranged from 5 to 18 per locus. The observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0.633 to 1.000 and from 0.709 to 0.929, respectively. These markers will be useful for the assessment of genetic variation and population structure for this species.
