Contrastive Analysis of The Perioperative Use of Prophylactic Antibiotics in Patients Undergoing Aseptic Surgery before and after The Intervention

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the intervention efficacy on the perioperative use of prophylactic antibiotics in patients undergoing aseptic surgery in Henan Fanxian County People's Hospital for clinical reference of rational drug use.METHODS: In accordance with related criteria,the medical records of 220 inpatients hospitalized in the department of orthopedic surgery or general surgery from May 2010 to April 2011(before intervention) vs.260 inpatients hospitalized in the department of orthopedic surgery or general surgery from May 2011 to April 2012(after intervention) were analyzed contrastively with regard to the rationality of perioperative use of prophylactic antibiotics.RESULTS: The intervention has achieved remarkable efficacy in that the rate of rational perioperative use of prophylactic antibiotics in patients undergoing aseptic surgery in our hospital has been greatly increased from 2.3% before intervention to 71.9% after intervention.CONCLUSION: The supervision and intervention on clinicians' behavior in the use of antibiotics is conducive to standardized use of antibiotics.
