Study on the exercise tolerance and the efficiency of ventilation in cured patients with acute irritating gas poisoning

2013
Objective To investigate the exercise capacity of clinical cured patients with acute irritating gas poisoning by comparing pulmonary function test (PFT) and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) between the patients and the healthy people. Methods Fourteen clinical cured patients with acute irritating gas poisoning were collected as poisoning group,Fourteen healthy people were selected as control group.PFT,arterial blood gas (ABG) and CPET were tested in the two groups. Results ①There were statistical difference in Peak (V) O2,Peak (V) O2/Kg,Peak (V) E、Lowest (V) E/ (V) CO2 between the two groups (P <0.05).there were significant statistical difference in PeakLoad、VD/VT、PeakPETCO2 between the two groups (P <0.01).There were no statistical difference in Peak (V) O2 %pred、Peak O2 pulse and BR between the two groups (P >0.05).②There were no statistical difference in age,height,weight,pH,PaO2,PaCO2 and SaO2 between the two groups (P >0.05).③ Significant difference did not exist in the level of FEV1/FVC,FEV1,FEV1 % pred,RV/TLC,DLCO% pred,FVC% pred (P > 0.05).Conclusions The exercise tolerance and the efficiency of ventilation of the cured patients with acute irritating gas poisoning were decreased. We should strengthen the prevention and treatment of occupational acute irritating gas poisoning in order to reduce the loss of labour force to the most degree.
