: Nearly every physician will be required at one time or another to provide a cardiology opinion on a patient about to undergo or who has recently undergone surgical intervention. The variety of cardiac problems one is faced with are obviously immense, but the purpose of this article is to highlight the common problems and guide physicians, anaesthetists and surgeons alike in the appropriate management of perioperative cardiac problems.
