Application and Development of Vibration Technique in Solidification Process of Metal

In this paper,the effects of mechanical and ultrasonic vibrations on solidification process of metals are briefly reviewed.It is also analyzed the mechanism why vibration in solidification process of metal can refine grain and improve microstructure and mechanical properties.The prospect for grain refining with vibration in solidification process in the 21st century is forecast.
