The present invention relates to a high-precision desulfurization catalyst and a preparation process thereof, wherein the raw materials comprise, by weight, metal salts (calculated as the weight of the oxide) such as 42-47 parts of CuO, 42-47 parts of ZnO, 5-12 parts of Al2O3, and 0.5-5 parts of ZrO2, 3-5 parts of a lubricant, 100-198 parts of a precipitation agent, and 5-15 parts of water, wherein a molar ratio of copper to zinc is 1:1. According to the present invention, the catalyst has a wide use temperature and can be used at a temperature from the room temperature to 450 DEG C; the breakthrough sulfur capacity at a temperature of 250 DEG C can achieve 33%; within a temperature range from a room temperature to 450 DEG C, when the raw material sulfur content is less than or equal to 0.5 ppm, it can be ensured that the desulfurization degree achieves 5 ppb or less; and the catalyst has the long service life and can be used for a long during the normal use, such that the user time and the operation cost are saved, and the accident of the damage on the catalyst due to the incorrect user operation is avoided.
