An Investigation on the Incidence of Pulmonary Tuberculosis among Primary School Students

Objective: To understand the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis and its trend among Primary and Secondary School Students. Methods:All the pulmonary tuberculosis cases were investigated and analysed among primary and secondary school students in Changzhou from 1990 to 1997. results: The annual incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis was 8. 21/100 000 in primary students and 18. 61/100 000 in secondary school students in Changzhou. The fouctuation in the incidence was quite large and the downward trend in the incidence was insignificant during the past 9 years. Conclusions: Pulmonary tuberculosis is still a major comonly encountered chronic intectious disease which is seriously hazardous to health of primary and secondary school students.
