Features of the Pentaphenylantimony Reaction with 3-Hydroxybenzoic and Benzene-1,2,4,5-Tetracarboxylic Acids

Pentaphenylantimony reacts on heating with 3-hydroxybenzoic acid in dioxane with the participation of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups to form tetraphenylantimony 3-tetraphenylstiboxybenzoate. Benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid in the reaction with pentaphenylantimony acts as a polyfunctional compound and forms a tetranuclear complex – tetrakis(tetraphenylantimony) benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylate. Structural features of the synthesized compounds were determined by the X-ray diffraction analysis.
