A logistic regression analysis on the correlation between TCM constitution and breast cancer

Objective To investigate the correlation between TCM constitution and breast cancer.Methods Sixty-nine cases of breast cancer group with 69 cases and control group with 34 cases were collected.Also the TCM constitution of each group was determined according to the standardized questionnaire of TCM constitution issued by China Associ ation for Traditional Chinese Medicine.Finally the relationship between TCM constitution and breast cancer was ana lyzed using logistic regression.Results There were significant differences between the two observation groups in the distributions of Gentleness,Qi-deficiency and Qi-depression constitution(P0.05).Breast cancer was correlated to these three types of constitution.The Gentleness constitution was protective factor,while the Qi-deficiency and Qi-depression constitution were risk factors.Conclusion The Qi-deficiency and Qi-depression constitution were susceptibility constitution to breast cancer,thus,to adjust these two types of constitution actively was meaningful for prevention of breast cancer.
