WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THE INSELBERGUES OF QUIXADÁ AND QUIXERAMOBIM, NORTHEAST OF BRAZIL?/O QUE SABEMOS SOBRE OS INSELBERGUES DE QUIXADÁ E QUIXERAMOBIM, NORDESTE DO BRASIL?

The inselbergs are exceptional reliefs and have scientific, environmental, educational, tourist and cultural relevance. Its genesis is associated with differential weathering in more resistant rocks, due to mineralogical, petrological or fracturing conditions. In the Northeast of Brazil, the field for insurgents in the counties of Quixada and Quixeramobim is one of the most representative on Earth. They are features sculpted in exhumed granitic rocks that have resulted in different forms of meso and microscale. In view of this, these territories were the subject of a geopark proposal. In this article, we analyze the state of the art about knowledge, its origins, evolution and classification. Therefore, we quantify publications on the area under study and synthesize the main theories and discussions, in order to assist strategies for the sustainable use of local geoheritage.
