The casting sand core comprises a composite integral sand core body, a sand removal window formed in the bottom of the composite integral sand core body, a chassis core, an upper cover disc core provided with a first sprue runner and a gating system assisting core provided with a second sprue runner and a first horizontal runner, wherein the composite integral sand core body comprises a chassis portion, an air intake channel portion, an exhaust channel portion, an upper water jacket portion, a lower water jacket portion, a tappet rod hole portion and an exhaust system channel formed in the composite integral sand core body, the chassis core is provided with a core assembly frame position, a core assembly yield position, a sand core exhaust channel and a gating system position which are used for accommodating the composite integral sand core body, and the sand core exhaust channel is communicated with the exhaust system channel. The cylinder cover accurate in shape and even in wall thickness can be obtained by using a casting method of the diesel engine cylinder cover with the composite integral sand core body, no floating core phenomenon is produced during casting of a air intake channel, an exhaust channel, an upper water jacket and a lower water jacket, a water cavity of the cylinder cover has no combination face, a finished casting product has no water jacket burr, and the water cavity of the diesel engine cylinder cover is high in cleanliness.
