Effect of Reformed-ethanol Fuel on the Volumetric Efficiency in I.C.Engines

The formulas are presented,by which the effect of reformed-ethanol fuel on the volumetric efficiency in I.C.engines are able to be calculated.The results show that the main factors,which impact on the volumetric efficiency in the reformed ethanol engincs,are the concentration and the reforming coefficient of reformed ethanol;With increase in the reforming coefficient,it is found that there is a rapid decrease in the volumetric efficiency of the reformed ethanol engines,so the power output of the engines would tend to be cut down rapidly;And there is less impact on the volumetric efficiency for using partial reformed ethanol in diesel engines.
