Vibrational relaxation of benzyl type radicals in a corona excited supersonic expansion
2002
Abstract The benzyl type radicals produced in a corona excited supersonic expansion exhibit the characteristics of not only rotationally but also vibrationally cold species. By examining the vibronic emission spectra of a series of benzyl type radicals such as p -xylyl, p -fluorobenzyl, and p -chlorobenzyl radicals, possible mechanism occurring at the throat of a pinhole-type glass nozzle in a corona excited supersonic expansion has been proposed.
