Double scintillation hodoscopes on hodoscope photomultipliers

Abstract The results achieved in constructing and applying the scintillation hodoscopes with hodoscope photomultipliers GFEU have been treated in detail in papers [1–3]. It has been shown that there exist a number of possibilities for improving the space-time characteristics of the hodoscopes. In the present work we describe a method of improving spatial and time resolution of scintillation hodoscopes which does not require sophisticated photomultipliers. The results of testing the hodoscopes with better space-time characteristics are presented. The experimental data are compared with calculations.
