Change of the Landscape Pattern in Quanzhou Estuary Wetlands

2010
Quanzhou estuary wetlands, the important estuary wetlands of China, are located in southeast Fujian.Since the 1980s,the research technique on landscape pattern of the wetlands had developed from the quota attribute to the'3S'technology and the mathematical model unified. The change of the landscape pattern in Quanzhou estuary wetlands was studied with the satellite images of 1998,1993,1997,2002 and 2005 in this paper. The results showed that the landscape pattern of the study area changed obviously and presented various types and equalization distribution;the area of intertidal mudflat decreased from 3 043.62 ha in 1988 to 2 009.42 ha in 2005;the areas of spartina alterniflora marsh and fish pond increased, the former from 20.16 ha in 1988 to 563.05 ha in 2005 and latter from 30.87 ha in 1988 to 185.01 ha in 2005;the number of patches of intertidal mudflat, mangrove, spartina alterniflora marsh and fish pond increased during 1988-2005;the area of the mangrove reached 50.72 ha,and artificial formation of woods was an effective way of mangrove recovery.
