Effect of EDC on the interface of a self-etch adhesive
2014
adhesive used (ClearfilTM SE Bond 2 [CSE] and AdperTM EasyOne [EO]), and their respective groups irradiated with Diode LASER (SiroLaser, Sirona) [CSE-L and EO-L]. The specimens were prepared to conventional microtensile bond strength test, obtaining stick-shaped specimens (1.0mm2), which were tested immediately or after one-year storage in deionized water. Data were analyzed through three-way ANOVA, followed by Tukey test for individual comparisons (p=0.05). All the three factors (Adhesive, LASER and Time) were significantly for ANOVA. Results: Individual comparisons revealed that immediate EO bond strengthwere higherwhen LASERwas irradiated, and aged EObond strengthdidnot decreasewhenLASERwasused. Water storage also reduced bond strength of CSEwithout laser (Table 1). Conclusion: With the limitations of this study, it is possible to conclude that Diode LASER irradiation after adhesive application may be a promising technique to increase and maintain bond strength of one-step self-etch adhesive systems to dentin.
