EZ-configurational assignment of N-acetyl-α,β-dehydrotryptophan ethyl ester produced by L-tryptophan 2′,3′-oxidase from Chromobacterium violaceum

Abstract The steric configuration of the α,β-dehydrotryptophanyl moiety produced by incubation of N -acetyl- L -tryptophan ethyl ester with L -tryptophan 2′,3′-oxidase was investigated by 1 H-NMR spectroscopy. It adopts unambiguously a Z -geometry.
