Optimized pumping of Nd:YVO/sub 4/ with polarizationinsensitive absorption for high power applications

We present a method of pumping Nd:YVO 4 for high power applications, providing insensitivity to pump polarization state and optimal handling of the thermal load. A high power oscillator and its thermal lensing characteristics are investigated
