The present invention provides a visible light communication apparatus. The visible light communication apparatus comprises a visible light transmit apparatus and a visible light receive apparatus. The visible light transmit apparatus comprises a light emitting diode (LED) micro-array consisting of multiple LEDs. The visible light transmit apparatus transmits visible light information by using the LED micro-array. The visible light receive apparatus comprises an avalanche photo diode (APD) micro-array consisting of multiple APDs. The visible light receive apparatus receives the visible light information by using the APD micro-array. According to the visible light communication apparatus, compared with a single LED, multiple LEDs form the LED micro-array, so that a problem that a transmission rate of the visible light transmit apparatus is limited is solved; and multiple APDs form the APD micro-array, so that the volume of the visible light receive apparatus is reduced, the visible light receive apparatus is more portable, and the visible light receive apparatus can be widely used in various scenarios, therefore, the visible light communication apparatus can meet the ever-increasing communication demand.
