Effects of Salvia Miltiorrhiz Injection on Mouse Tail Epidermal Cell Differentiation and Investigation of the Mechanism

2009
Objective To search possible therapeutic mechanism in treating psoriasis with the Salvia Miltiorrhiz Injection and to explore the correlation between the dosage and therapeutic effects so as to provide experimental basis for its using in clinica. Methods Using mouse tail scaled epidermis as animal experimental mode, different groups of mouse were injected Salvia Miltiorrhiz or methotrexate by tra-abdominally and to observe the effects of Salvia Miltiorrhiz Injection on mouse tail epidermal cell differentiation;calculate mouse spleen index number、thympus index number(mg/10gweigh);the level of TNF-α,IL-2,IFN-γ and sE-selectin in mouse serum was measured with enzyme 1inked immunosordent assay(ELISA) method. Results The middle and high dosage of the Salvia Miltiorrhiz Injection and MTX group could promote greatly the formation of epidermis granular cells on mouse tail and decrease the level of TNF-α,IL-2,IFN-γ,sE-selectin in mouse serum. As compared with that of MTX group, they had no differences(P0.05).The low dosage could only promote the formation of epidermis granular cells on mouse tail and to decrease the level of sE-selectin in mouse serum. As compared with that of MTX group, they had significant differences(P0.01).SM treated groups had no effect on mouse SIN and TIN.MTX group could decreased mouse's SIN and decreased greatly mouse's TIN. Conclusion The therapeutic effects of the Salvia Miltiorrhiz Injection on psoriasis might be achieved by blocking several links of chain in the pathogenesis of psoriasis, and these effects were related on dosage.
