Psychiatric Malpractice: Medical and Legal Problems

When a patient brings a lawsuit against a psychiatrist, the usual claim is malpractice. Malpractice means bad practice and in law this has been interpreted to mean a substantive deviation from an accepted standard of care. What is considered is the usual and ordinary standard for the type of practice involved.
